The Cavs came to the conclusion that it was time to part ways with Dion Waiters, who seemed to want to take on more of a leader role than was needed on a team full of leaders. So Waiters was sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he will join the star studded cast of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. The New York Knicks pretty much threw in the towel with this trade too, especially with the league's second leading scorer, Carmelo Anthony, saying he might sit out the rest of the season with a "knee injury." But let's be real, Melo knows the season is lost (5 32), and in typical Carmelo fashion, he gives up when he sees the light closing at the end of the tunnel. Nice Melo, nice.
It will be interesting to see if these new additions can get Cleveland back on track or if they will further complicate things for the team. Surely LBJ will take the reigns of his former club and lead them back to the playoffs . Won't he?Josh Gordon career may be in jeopardy after another failed drug testGordon was suspended for the first half of the 2014 NFL season, a suspension that was originally for an entire year but was reduced after the NFL changed its drug policies regarding marijuana.
This offseason, the Cleveland Cavaliers reacquired their lord and savior in four time NBA MVP LeBron James. They also added some guy from Minnesota who boasts career numbers of 19.2 points and 12.1 rebounds a game in Kevin Love. Add that to the quickness and pure athleticism of 3rd year guard Kyrie Irving, and you have the perfect formula for a championship, right? Well that's what the Cavs organization were led to believe at the start of the 2014/15 NBA season, but after jumping out to a subpar 19 16 start, it was apparent that something was missing.
Tom Brady doesn expect to be interviewed until after the Super BowlTom Brady and the New England Patriots are preparing for Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks, but the controversy known as deflate gate still lingers on. Brady, who has had his credibility.
Cavs general manager David Griffin hopes that the addition of Smith and Shumpert will provide a much needed spark to this very lackluster start to the season. has the potential to be a consistent contributor on this makeshift team. Currently averaging 10.9 points (2nd worst in career), 69.2 percent from the line (2nd worst), and 35.6 percent from three (2nd worst); the Cavs are hoping these numbers are a product of his previous team's piss poor production and not his dwindling career. Shumpert, on the other hand, has shown real promise in his fourth year out of Georgia Tech. Currently averaging 9.3 points (2nd best in career), 3.3 assists (career best), and 40.9 percent from the field (career best); he seems to be a player on the rise.
One could blame the Cavs recent string of misfortune on James' sore knee and back; he did just turn 30 after all. But the truth is, the Cavs troubles began far before the King's injuries. There's also the excuse that the team isn't quite comfortable in their new roles just yet. But James' Miami Heat seemed to adapt a lot more quickly (26 9) in his first season in South Beach. Then there's the ideology that everyone's out to get the Cavs, as every team seems to play them like its Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Smith and Iman Shumpert to the roster.
Cavaliers look to improve roster with additions of J

Holy investment, that would be amazing. Google and Musk teaming together can only mean great things to come.
A source close to the alleged deal says Google "has agreed to value SpaceX north of $10 billion."
I think this needs to be done, and I don't see anyone else doing it

"The purpose of a deal is to support the development of SpaceX satellites that could beam low cost Internet around the globe to billions who don't have it."
buttplugpeddler comments on Google Is About To Make A Major Investment In Elon Musk's SpaceX
Also, I think we can just go ahead and make this Musk slogan:
The dude is doing fantastic things and seems to have very little interest in personal gain. He just wants to innovate. I wish we could give him the nation budget and see what he does with it.

Your standard of a college for Rochester is Brockport? Really? Do you actually know what colleges are in Rochester? Do you realize the University of Rochester is one of the most prestigious schools in the country? RIT has a stellar reputation as well. UB is a good school, but they can be limited by what they can do due to the fact that it is a public school and has to deal with the politics of the state. However, I see these schools as a regional asset, as three schools alone should help any local company find quality talent.
Have you been to Park Avenue? Rochester also has Monroe Avenue, which is pretty cool to stroll through in Pittsford. Just make sure your credit card doesn't have a limit on it for that.
Aside from that fact. I think Buffalo still outshines Rochester quite a bit. For one lets look at both "great" neighborhoods. Elmwood Ave in Buffalo is fifty times better than Park ave in Rochester. Park Ave is what three blocks, and some nice homes. Not even comparible. Elmwood ave from Buffalo state college to downtown is about two miles long of nothing but, novelty stores, boutigues, hair salons, eateries, clothing stores, shoe stores, coffe houses, apartments, galleries, etc. I don't see anything comparible on Park Ave in Rochester.
And then there are sports. Obviously we all know that Buffalo has the Sabres and the Bills. Rocheser has "no" professional sports. Unless you call a minor league baseball team professional.
I really do think that Buffalo does win this by a landslide. It really isn't close in my book.
I would take a short hop to the wineries and Finger Lakes over a longer drive to the casinos. I'm not a big gambler, maybe once a year for a few hours with a limited budget, so I would go over the Falls to Canada for an overnight/weekend trip anyways. It's beautiful with the Falls and entire development (with the mix of hotels/restaurants/shops/entertainment), so I prefer that more than an self sustaining Indian Casino.
Rochester's downtown just doesn't impress me one bit. Buffalo is finally starting to improve theirs, but even still it is much larger. More pedestrian activity in dt Buffalo. The art scene is not even comparible, Buffalo trumps Rochester by a landslide. Better college scene in Buffalo by far. Some of Rochesters so called Colleges are barely in the metro (ala Brockport). I've heard from many people who reside in Rochester that Rochester really lacks a college vibe. For one, Buffalo and its suburbs were built up years before. Whereas because of the growth of Rochester in the last fifty years, many of their suburbs are newer; hence, looking more modern and less blue collar.
Anybody that says one city wins "by a landslide" is clearly a homer with an agenda. In the long run, there isn't much different between the two cities.
City infrastructure. I have to give this one to Buffalo all day. It is very easy to navigate around Buffalo. Rochester seems like a maze. Whereas Buffalo seems parallel in alot of its borders. I've been to Rochester hundreds of times and can still get confused where I am going. City to city Buffalo "feels alot bigger than Rochester. Just seems like there are far many more neighborhoods in Buffalo. BUffalo technically has one downtown but is still (I believe) on hold. Maybe someone can clue me in on what has happened there. I know that it has been on hold for a long time now because of politics. To go to a Casino from Rochester, you have to take a day trip to Syracuse. When I lived in Buffalo I could be in Niagara falls Canada in thirteen minutes and at a card table in ten more.

Buffalo vs Rochester Henrietta
And Brockport is not close to the edge of the metro of Rochester. It's still in Monroe county for gods sake. Much of what you describe can be found in Rochester too.

ummm have you ever been to park ave? It's about a couple miles. And I've been told the exact opposite about the arts scene, not that I agree with that either. From what I've seen, they are both pretty good. One not outshining the other.
I really do think that Buffalo does win this by a landslide. It really isn't close in my book. The Park Ave. area is BUSTLING with college students and recent grades. Your apparent ignorance of this just shows that you have never actually spent any significant time in Rochester if you believe the college scene here is less than that of Buffalo.

Buffalo has the Sabres and Bills (I don't think they'll last beyond Ralph Wilson), but without support from Southern Ontario and Rochester, they wouldn't make it.

As far as Art galleries, they aren't really my thing, so I can't comment too much on them. I do know Albright Knox is well respected, but that's about all I know.
I agree. I wouldn't go so far as too adding Hamilton to the area. That seems a bit odd. However, take away Hamiltion and add the surrounding Canadian area just adjacent to Buffalo and you will add about 5 600,000 more residents. That would be a more fair view. That would make the Buffalo CSA around 1.8 million. Which is definately more accurate. If CSA's are defined by continuous development than that would make sense. Like I've said before, you could practically throw a rock at a house in Canada from Buffalo. If Canada was another state, that population would automatically count without a doubt.

The Galleria is nice, but they don't really offer anything that is unique in terms of stores. Also, have you been to Eastview Mall? It's very nice and is Rochester's Galleria Mall. (Rumors are circulating they could be trying to snag a major luxury department store; in addition to the new addition of Von Maur.) Rochester seems to get national/regional stores and restaurants before Buffalo Niagara does. Rochester also has Monroe Avenue for shopping, dining, and entertaining.

At times the quality of their fabrics are great while other times, not so much. Their cotton shirts and tanks are made from a lower quality cotton that will shrink and stretch out of shape with continued wear. Their cotton also feel a bit stiff during wear, which can feel restricting during the day. Some of their coats are made from a felted wool that can prove scratchy, even if lined. On the other hand, the faux leather they use for their handbags is high quality and will stand up to harsh use without a tear or a seam splitting. The wool they use for their suiting is also of a high quality and will last years without any sign of wear.
3. Shorter Length
OK budget fashionistas! Take this information and find some great wardrobe staples at H Good luck!
One problem that may arise while shopping at H is the length of their shirts and blazers. Their shirts tend to run quite short in the length, this is either to save money or that their target market are shorter women, but it does pose a problem. If you are 5'6"+ or have a short waist (in which your shirts need to lie lower on your hip, as to lengthen your torso), I would not recommend buying shirts here.
2. The Cut is Fitted

H is a wonderful place to shop, especially for the basics. At H it's very important to examine each piece before buying. The way that they can afford to charge a lower price for their goods is by making smart detailed choices in cost cutting. Some of these choices benefit the consumer others do not. In order to really get a bargain, there are some things to keep in mind while shopping here:

1. Fabric Quality Varies
The cut of H clothing is great for curvy women because everything from their suits and coats to their dresses are fitted. They put princess line seams into many of their garments allowing for the fabric to give around the bust and hips, without losing definition in the waist. Remember curvy girls, princess lines are your best friend!

Turner here is a bumbling, comical figure, but one who also possesses huge intellectual curiosity and single mindedness. Dick Pope, Leigh's cinematographer, does bravura work in portraying the "damn fine storms" that Turner liked to paint, and the cloudscapes and crepuscular scenes ("the fiery firmament") that so fascinated him.
Spall's Turner isn't above vanity. He wants his paintings to be hung in prominent positions, and he is clearly hurt when Queen Victoria scorns his work and, equally, hurt by the more public grumble that he "has taken leave of form altogether" in his more abstract work. He is astute about money, unlike some of his wastrel colleagues. He is also capable of behaving with extreme callousness to his own family. This, it becomes apparent, is not because he is unkind. It is simply that he is so preoccupied with his work that he doesn't have time to notice them.
As played by Spall, Turner is a grunting, walrus like figure with a hint of Charles Dickens' Sam Weller about him. He is first seen in Holland, where he has been sketching, examining the light and taking a "gander" at the works of Rembrandt. Back home in London, he is looked after by his father, William Turner Snr (Paul Jesson), a former barber. Father and son are earthy characters without any pretensions.
Leigh follows JMW Turner (1775 1851) in the final 25 or so years of his life as the artist paints in his studio, roams around seaside towns, gropes his housekeeper, courts a seaside landlady, deals reluctantly with family matters and consorts with fellow members of the Royal Academy.
Brushstrokes of genius from Timothy Spall as old master

attempting to hold a leveraged fund long term
but I dug around for other people's opinions and it seems like a bad idea

TVIX is a particularly bad long term choice because it investing in unpredictable and complex derivatives, themselves based on a derived value (implied volatility) which is, essentially, a mathematical guess about the future volatility of yet another thing (S 500 index).
Contrast with a leveraged ETF like SSO or QLD, their decay can and often does become almost non existent. Negative decay isn an inherent, inevitable property of leveraged ETFs, it a side effect that results from volatility, and, depending on the derivatives used to gain the leverage, contango/backwardation in their markets. The same things can also result in "anti decay" where the compounding works in your favor.
use of derivatives without a proper understanding
putting all your eggs in one basket
Honestly these are all mistakes that a typical amateur investor will make in their first year and then never repeat again. It called "paying tuition". I doubt you be able to tell your dad this since it seems he only sees dollar signs right now, and it sucks that he has to learn this lesson so late in his life. Something you already know: TVIX tracks a volatility index. More precisely, it tracks an index of short term volatility futures.
Luckily, not all leveraged ETFs are always or even usually impacted by high volatility.
