Oh, and a Carven-clad Alexa Chung thrown in for good measure. Spring '11 is Guillaume's third collection for Carven, a decades-old couture house, which he took over in 2009 and successfully transformed into ready-to-wear. With clear talent, support from people like Simon Doonan and Alexa Chung, and very competitive price points, Guillaume is destined for greatness. So, we were thrilled when we got a chance to speak with the handsome designer about this collection, the brand's evolution and what's next. "We had in mind the idea of a Parisian girl, which is super universal, and this idea of a casual elegance," he explained. For spring, he was also inspired by Greek mythology and Mediterranean islands. He plans on continuing the brand's evolution, "I hope that each season we change the scenario, but the main idea of what Carven is is still the same. We really want Carven to be not about trends, but about fashion."
